Designing the Boat
Even though the message of “Think Before You Throw” is an environmentally friendly one the boat itself was never designed to be carbon neutral. Our budget could not afford it. Instead we used materials that were donated and, whenver possible, we used recycled materials. The original designs for the plastic bottle boat were created by Isara’s founder, Kirk Gillock, but were later on made structurally sound (and more beautiful) by Alec at Nong Khai Design.
